2026 Aug 30 – The Captain’s Medal – Victoria Club

Sunday August 30th will be our first Ryder Cup of Hickory Golfers vs Club Members using hickory clubs. We had a wonderful introduction to this classic course last year and are looking forward to this new event.

This will be a Ryder Cup style event with two-person teams playing 9 holes of Four-ball (Best Ball) followed by 9 holes of Scotch Foursomes (Modified Alternate Shot). See the entry form below.

Since 1903 the Victoria Club, a premiere private club, has provided championship golf to Riverside residents. This classic club started as a nine-hole course designed by founding member Fred Heath. Walter Fovargue expanded the course to 18 holes which opened on November 2, 1920. On January 31, 1923, future hall of famers Gene Sarazen and Jock Hutchison played an exhibition match against top Victoria amateurs Errol Fleming and J.M. Read. Sarazen and Hutchison won the match 6 & 5.
